Absence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder

At least that’s what I hope is true about you that have read my blog in the past and have now made your way to today’s post. It’s been 4 months since my last entry and I’ve just been creeping on other blogs during that time. I haven’t even the common courtesy of posting in comments on any of them. So let’s see blog jerk checklist: not writing, check; reading but not comment check; not sharing blog posts I’ve enjoyed, check.

I won’t say I haven’t written anything; I actually wrote a full post in January documenting my latest trip to Alaska. I started writing another one in February that I might finish where I list less famous quotes that I assume people who are quoted all the time made. Trust me, it’s hilarious…. No really, it is. Okay maybe it’s only funny to me, but I’m still likely going to subject you to it. Let’s see, what else? One of my last posts was about trying to be healthier; I dropped over 20 pounds. I then promptly gained 5 back, but I’m still in much better shape than I’ve been in a long time. My preferred method of exercise these days is playing golf 3 to 4 times a week. I walk and carry my own clubs; it’s a good endurance builder plus my golf game is improving enough that I’m not embarrassed to have other people see me play.

So here it is, a short little update to let you know I live. I have stuff in the pipeline that I will be telling you about soon.
A few things that I would recommend

Movies in theaters as of the time I wrote this
“The Grand Budapest Hotel” especially if you’re a Wes Anderson fan.
“Captain America: The Winter Soldier” blew me away.

Movies on DVD

“The Secret Life of Walter Mitty”
“Saving Mr Banks”

Music

Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors

Alpha Rev’s song “Lexington”

Nickel Creek’s new album “Destinations”

So what’s up with you?

Me with the Vespers and Judah and the Lion from concerts I attended in March.

Superhero movies – meh. That you’re alive I gathered from Facebook Thunder posts. That you’ve finally posted again? Priceless 🙂

    Repeat as necessary 😀

Ha! I do post a lot about the thunder, but it’s playoff time! Thanks for the encouragement Rick; I’ll try to keep the super hero movie talk to a minimum. 🙂

Well, welcome back! Good for you for sticking to your guns, it isn’t easy to shed pounds, takes real discipline… although I’m not sure everyone would agree that golfing is! Good to hear from you, Phillip.
