These Fields (created to worship)

imageThis is a post that I wrote a couple of years ago before I had this site. It blessed and encouraged me to read it again; I hope it blessed you.
“These fields they sing out to praise You
An offering of love upon the plains
The mountains, they will turn to face You
And tremble at the whisper of Your name
Your name” (“These Fields” Satellite Soul)
It seems so easy to miss what is happening all around us. It seems so easy to walk outside and not hear the song that is being played all around us. It seems so very easy to forget that the very name of the LORD is so powerful, that it can make the mountains tremble. Creation knows of it’s Creator, and it hasn’t stopped praising Him since the beginning of time.
Psalm 145:10 tells us.
All Your works shall give thanks to You, O LORD, And Your godly ones shall bless You.

The LORD of all is praised by all of His works; and if we are godly ones, we should be blessing Him always. We cannot earn or deserve what He gives us by His grace, and we do not have the right to ask for anything more than that which He would desire to give to us. The hand of the LORD is mighty and His will and rule are just. So what shall I say to His promise, and what shall I do with His word? Should I not hold fast to what I know to be true?
For as many as are the promises of God, in Him they are yes; therefore also through Him is our Amen to the glory of God through us.(2 Corinthians 1:20)
I praise God as His creation, and I see that I cannot add a single day to my life worrying about what I haven’t seen yet. His creation sings praise because it knows He is worthy and He provides for it’s every need. It trembles at His name because it knows the power that He holds. I am and will be no different. I will sing my praise to Him that is worthy and know that He has already provided for my every need, and I will tremble in reverential fear knowing the majesty and awesomeness of His holy name. From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets, my life will be an instrument of praise to the name of the LORD. The King of heaven has called, and I have set my life to answer. No longer shall the song of the these fields go unheard by me nor shall the love that He has set upon these plains go unnoticed. As long as I have breath, I will praise the LORD.

What can I add to that besides what it deserves? Amen.

  3. I’ve heard some fascinating things about creation actually producing sound. We can’t hear it of course, but it’s literally there–a song of praise. I’ve been guilty in my busyness of not hearing the praise. Thankful for a couple days of rest now to tune in again! Thanks Philip.

How much it does us good to slow down and take it in, yet we rarely let it happen. Thankful for times I do. Thanks Jason
